Slavic Soul Party

May 19th - Saturday. Mr. Smalls Theatre, Pittsburgh. I waited for that concert a long long time. Slavic Soul Party - a band that I spotted online, while googling for concerts in Pittsburgh area. http://www.slavicsoulparty.com/main.html
Being a big fan of folk music and talent of Kusturica and music of Bregojevich I was so exited to find out that group will play in Mr. Smalls. They live in New Jersey. However they are composed of people from Romania, Japan and American of Serbian descent. I have been in former Yoguslavia and I have danced to music played by a real "Wedding and Funeral Brass Bands" (that is how those band are called in Europe). I was touched to hear the same rhythms and vibrant vibes of pusons, trumpets, accordion and trans drums after 10 years.
It is hard to describe with words the atmosphere by the stage on that night. The crowd (mostly European) went crazy. I danced all night, did Lot's of vodka shots and had a blast that I have not have since ... the Polkaholics concert in Chicago. Here are the pictures that not even close depict the craziness of that night. Enjoy! http://picasaweb.google.com/PatiJav/SlavicSPConcertMay
