The first house project

We have a working bathroom! After a week of struggling with scheduling the plumber to fix the water connections we have a working shower, brand new toilet, vanity and sink. I groutet tiles and painted the doors, trim and walls (with a primer). Erik installed the toilet and the new vanity. The glass shower enclosure turned out to be a total disaster thus we unistalled it and decided have simple shower curtain.
It is amazing how hard it is to find people in the Pittsburgh area to help with home improvements. Not only it is summer - the busiest time for construction, but also Pittsburgh is not Chicago, where the Polish Newspaper is filled with adds and phone numbers of people willing to work for half price still providing decent work. The odds were with us, when we found out that one of my Polish friends dad is a self taught home remodeler and agreed on spot to help us - mainly with the kitchen project whicg is the first and most important part of our home rennovations. All those things fell in place thank to Erik who for the last three weeks of his summer vacations was helping Jozek to rip out cabinets and walls in the kitchen. He learned a lot about remodeling and how to say "mother in law" in Polish.
